How do I say goodbye after such a long time?
I greatly the treasure the friendships I have made here – especially Valerie, Siona, Laurie, Stacy and Ruth – the email address I see daily is jsteone@yahoo.com">jsteone@yahoo.com.
Gaia.com asked that I delete and “limit” posting any quotes not previously published – without regard for the merit or truth of the quote itself.
For me, that is a deal breaker. Many speakers, writers, and artistic photographers look for merit in a quote to be used, without regard for previous publication.
As you read this, I am somewhere on a great mission in my life – to share the Laura Teresa Marquez quotes she gave to me with the intent they might help as many people as possible –
The following is from Wikianswers.com and I am the friend mentioned:
Who is Laura Teresa Marquez?
“Laura Teresa Marquez is a modern day mystic and author with deep wisdom, insight and compassion.
She is currently quoted in hundreds of blogs and websites, especially those sites matching her quotes to artistic photos. For example, one site, Flickr.com, shows over 400 artistic photos matched to Laura's quotes.
Also, Laura is quoted in the book, The Reflective Counselor, Daily Meditations for Lawyers, by F. Gregory Coffey and Maureen C. Kessler. Laura is the daughter of the poet and writer, Gilbert Marquez, and grew up in El Paso, Texas, where she still lives. Her primary interest is in working with troubled children and her dream is to open “The Laura Marquez Center for Childhood Fulfillment”.
Laura's internet exposure started when she began sharing her spiritual and motivational thoughts with a friend in early morning conversations. The friend believed the thoughts and wording to be exceptional and posted some of the thoughts as quotes on the internet. From those original postings, others found and reproduced the quotes. Two quotes widely reproduced are: “Arrogance and rudeness are training wheels on the bicycle of life, for weak people who cannot keep their balance without them.” and “If you can live by the best inside yourself, the worst outside yourself will crumble at your feet.”
I am most comfortable with no boundries – so, if you think about it, it is a paradox that I live in the largest border city on the Mexican/US border! And, for me, I have found the likely sources of a quality life –
On the website “Flickr” 413 LTM quotes and great photos: http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=laura%20teresa%20marquez&w=all
quiet,
awareness of Nature,
humor,
unique perspective,
questions,
reaching out to others,
a sincere desire to be of service,
and, most importantly, happiness based, not completely, yet more on the “Universal” than on the “Amazing Temporary”.
Let me explain with examples: My life is moving forward when I think about and adore universal female beauty even more than the beauty of any one female – universal love even more than the love experienced at any given moment, and universal wonder and joy even more than the wonder and joy at any given moment. This does not mean that I value amazing, real-life occurences, beauty, and relationships any less – my value for the universal is increasingly more. Also, I know that the amazing temporary and the universal cannot be separated – and, I would never want them to be separated. That would be like saying I could separate the electrical power generator from my pop-up toaster – each must have the other!
Then, explore the duty of your dreams.
The future belongs to people who believe in the duty of their dreams.”
